Windmill Generator Plans – Save Money While Saving the Planet

Posted by pongsak on 13th January 2010

If you are interested in alternative energy sources of energy such as wind power to create electricity for your home then it is strongly suggested that you get a hold of some quality windmill generator plans and take the job on yourself. The reason being that it is actually relatively simple to build your own windmill while buying one from a commercial manufacturer on the other hand can be extremely expensive.

A residential windmill can cost up to $25,000 in fact. Conversely, windmill generator plans will run you about $50 and the parts needed to construct your DIY wind turbine can be picked up for less than $200 from your local hardware store or home improvement center. It doesn’t take a math genius to figure out what the better deal is there does it?

A DIY windmill does not take any special skills to construct either. Nor does it require any special tools. It can actually be a rather enjoyable project that will in the end give you a great deal of satisfaction when completed.

It could take you decades to recoup the cost of a commercial windmill, while the cost of a DIY windmill will be recouped within a few months of installing it. There is also a tax deduction allowed by the IRS for utilizing alternative energy sources

How much electricity your windmill will generate is pretty much predicated upon how large it is and how much wind it will get where it is constructed. We have all seen those giant wind turbines on the windfarms. They produce electricity that is measured in megawatts. In other words, enough to power up an entire neighborhood.

Of course, that is not our goal here so the windmill that we are looking to construct will produce energy that is measured in kilowatts per hour (kwh). Typically, a residential wind power generator will not be enough to get you off the power grid and be completely self-sufficient as far as your electricity needs goes.

What it will absolutely do is save you a substantial amount of money on your utility bill each and every month. Windmill generator plans will allow you to construct a residential wind power generator that will not only create electricity for your home but will also let you to store it in batteries where the energy source can be tapped when the wind is not blowing.

There is one decided downside to wind energy that is rather obvious but I will state it anyway, when the wind does not blow and the blades do not turn, no power is generated. It is much the same thing with a solar panel. When the sun does not shine it cannot produce electricity because there is no energy being absorbed from the sun.

A quality set of windmill generator plans will have you on your way to realizing substantial savings on electricity bills. It will not however, create enough power that you’ll no longer need your utility company. Now if you were to build several DIY windmills then you may just be able to become 100% self-reliant for your electricity needs.

For DIY Solar Energy Saving – Is it possible?

Posted by pongsak on 3rd January 2010

Although there is much talk about DIY Solar has been very little acceptance of the technology in the Domestic DIY market had. A big reason for this is a common belief that much sunlight is needed to make all the energy savings pay!

A "lack of sunlight" was often the argument of many politicians to Going Solar, but this argument is simply not justified. Take, for example, the small Danish island of Samsoe, a place exclusively powered by renewable energy. On average, has reached about 7-8 hours after the very weak sunlight and still 70% of heat demand by solar energy, biomass and hay!

It is true that the amount of solar energy on a square meter of soil (300 watts per square meter fall) is in fact quite small, requiring relatively large energy collectors to meet the energy needs of a typical home. But the roof of a typical home requires far more than the size of the solar cells to a heat> Home – about 10% of the size of living space. Also suitable with ever more efficient solar panels rotate the weakest of sunlight into electricity, you can be sure to grow the market further.

Thirty or forty years ago, in colder climates, a similar situation arose with double glazing. The average household thought the idea too expensive and too long to pay back in terms of energy. Owners soon realized that was not repaid, the main problem. House Pricesrose by double-glazing has been installed. The cost of the facility was lower heating costs and justified?

Solar technology is no different. Those who will install solar systems are manufactured DIY Solar or to realize the return on investment both through energy savings and property value. It is the norm and not the exception, have a kind of Domestic power source.

Currently, commercial solar energy systems can be very expensive. IfYou are looking at a return on investment through energy savings alone, you could wait a very long time. The alternative is to go DIY Solar. Just like in the early days of double-glazing, where people would install their own secondary disks are, now homeowners are looking to build their own solar systems. The parts are required, not too expensive, and the information that is to build such a system, readily available. A DIY solar system can work from one tenth of the cost ofsimilar commercial system.
